CinemaAttic, in association with Scotland’s Catalan Centre are proud to present the 1st Catalan Film Festival in Scotland.

This project continues our endeavour to organize pioneer festivals in UK though such initiative should not have been possible without the support of the Scotland’s Catalan Centre to participate and hence promote the Catalan culture and through the freshest art and cinema produced in Catalonia in recent years.

Not by chance, the collaboration between both entities sees light on a period of special prosperity for Catalan cinema. In the course of the last five years there has been a significant raise in the exhibition of Catalan works outside Spain, not to mention that some of them have been recognized in various international festivals – when not pre-selected to represent Spain in the Academy Awards.

The 1st Catalan Film Festival will take place in Edinburgh towards the autumn of 2012. The programme of events will include a selection of recently renowned feature films, the best of Catalan short films, an exhibition and a conference.

With this project, we seek to open a unique insight into Catalan culture through truly moving experiences.
